Air is a new generative audio-visual work that’s “like Music for Airports made endless,” according to ambient pioneer Brian Eno, “Which is how I always wanted it to be.” The iPhone music app was created by musician / software designer Peter Chilvers and Irish vocalist Sandra O’Neill. Based on concepts developed by Brian Eno, with whom Chilvers created Bloom, Air assembles vocal and piano samples into an ever changing composition, which will be familiar, but never the same.

Indeed. Yet here he is, about to usher in a weekend of special events that celebrates the circuit-bending consistency and mind-numbing diversity of a label that’s made stars out of electronic music’s most reclusive producers (Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Autechre) and pressed everything from choir boy folk (Grizzly Bear) and punk funk (!!!) to electro-fied soul (Jamie Lidell) and whatever the hell Battles is.

The music of Daft Punk revisited on vintage Game Systems

If there's one thing we've seen a lot of listeners request, it's a rendition of Koji Kondo's beloved title theme from the very first Zelda... played on Heineken beer bottles. Actually, that's a lie, but sometimes people don't know what's good for them: Mattias Holmgren's last posted mix was alllllllll the way back in July of 2002, but he marks a triumphant and product-endorsing return here with this premium quality, lager arrangement. He submitted a previous version of this mix using Milwaukee's Best, but our judges panel felt that it lacked the purified water, malted barley, and quality hops and yeast that was necessary for a full-bodied yet satisfying VGM experience. Yes, again, mistruth. However, given Link's penchant for green attire, the choice DOES seem appropriate. Either way, let's get an explanation from the man himself:
