i think all the traveling and its cookies has confused some websites and advertisers. just in the last hour on my laptop, seattle times' advertising is in quebecois french and mozilla.org is localized in german.

new camera!!! and a few memory cards — i'll be shooting RAW as much as i can with the XT, but i doubt i will want to carry it everywhere.

however, i hope not to spend too much time in the viewfinder lest i miss what i'm looking for. i've already accomplished enough of that.

Data comes from open sources like wikipedia, wikitravel, Flickr and Google Maps, as well as proprietary sources that have cut deals with the company. And you can create a guide for virtually anywhere in the world - they have 30,000 or so destinations today, and will be adding regional versions in the futures (”France” or “Napa Valley” for example).

if my wanderlust wasn't enough, it's now compounded by personal, relevant, data lust.
